2D Week 7 - Reigniting an IP

I'm going with Thomas Carnacki, a detective who visits exotic locations to investigate various mysteries of the supernatural. As per the project guidelines I intend to stray away from the steampunk aspects and gravitate towards another theme.

Can't decide between a roaring 20-30's style horror or something set in a low-fantasy medieval setting. Not a lot of good medieval horror. Both have a good base for intrigue that lends to subtle, existential dread.

I'm also including a public domain character named Fantomah. Because look at this crazy BS:

Style-wise i'm leaning towards a Mike Mignola. Not married to it.
